Aluminium oxide type AK99.5 is high purity and has excellent mechanical, electrical, thermal and chemical properties and is our standard material for precision components and ballistic applications.

This material is frequently used in ballistic applications, and has a very high mechanical strength and hardness with a relatively low weight compared to steel. Other properties include resistance to corrosive and chemical substances. Moreover, parts made from AK99.5 do not have open porosity and have very good abrasion and temperature resistance.

This type of Aluminum oxide is suitable for the production of equipment parts for semiconductor manufacturing or tooling parts that must operate with high precision and accuracy under high temperatures. In addition, the material can be used for electrical insulation parts, (spacers, bushings), but also for sliding rings, bearing rings, plungers, pistons, shafts and metering wheels. We prefer to manufacture ballistic protection modules from AK99.5.
