Precise parts - outstanding wear resistance, surface quality and hardness

AZ90 is a Zirconia reinforced Alumina ceramic, it consists of 90% Al₂O₃ and 10% ZrO₂. Compared to a pure Al₂O₃ ceramic, the material is characterized by higher mechanical strength. Due to the fine-grained structure, the material has very good wear resistance and high hardness. A very high surface quality can be achieved by lapping and polishing.

The material is therefore suitable for applications in mechanical and plant engineering or sensor technology, where the ceramic component is exposed to high mechanical wear and/or a high surface quality is required. In addition, precise, sharp edges can be produced on the components by appropriate hard machining.
