Ceramic/metal bond (bonding)

Adhesive bonds are designed for shear. The bonding effect is created by adhesion and requires a defined surface / bonding gap at the bonding site. 
QSIL Ceramics has many years of experience in bonding ceramic to ceramic and ceramic to steel. Typical applications in this area are: 
 
Classifier wheel - adhesive bond ceramic to ceramic: Here the adhesive bond is subjected to high centrifugal forces. 
 
Piston - adhesive bond ceramic to steel: bonding of a ceramic piston to a metallic shaft. The stress is cyclic, swelling, and is transferred from the shaft to the piston via the adhesive bond. 
 
Wear protection - ceramic to steel for lining pipes, walls, etc. 
Depending on the stress profile (temperature, medium, mechanical load), various trusted adhesive solutions are available.
