Excellent tribological and damage-tolerant behavior for high-performance and high-safety braking systems or clutches. 

QSIL Ingenieurkeramik GmbH's carbon, long fiber reinforced SiC "SC-Cf" is a C/C SiC material produced according to a DLR specification via silicon infiltration of previously pyrolyzed carbon preforms (LSI process). The combination of SiC and carbon fibers results in excellent tribological and damage-tolerant behavior and is therefore particularly suited for high-performance and high-safety braking systems or clutches. Due to its high specific strength and stiffness, the material is also valued in the aerospace industry - for example in the design of lightweight structures.
