Ceramic rollers and roller coats enable in particular the grinding and fine dispersing of the finest, abrasive-acting pigments, powders, plastic masses or melting in calender rolling mills. The main advantages are the high resistance to abrasion, the significantly reduced contamination of the product as well as the low adhesion tendency to a variety of substances. Furthermore, the low density of the ceramics enables an increase in the energy efficiency of the grinding processes (lower mass acceleration).

Higher operating temperatures than comparable components on a metallic basis can also be achieved at any time.

Surface-structured calenders can also be used for embossing, smoothing, compacting and satining paper and textiles.
